The propeller protector has been enhanced to ensure that the propeller only detaches from the airplane when it hits something at full throttle. When the throttle is set to the middle position or lower (half-throttle), the propeller will stop rotating upon impact instead of detaching from the airplane, reducing the likelihood of loss.
